Hi! I’m Nikka Turro, a senior at Rutgers University double majoring in Communications/Public Relations and Journalism and Media Studies, on track to graduate this spring.
I created this website to document my path into the fashion and beauty industry, specifically showcase my brand partnerships, and events, and influencer marketing to give future employers or even just people looking to get into the field a real look at how I create and work. I’ve spent my college years throughout my coursework and internships training in Public Relations. Having worked on everything from social media posts to influencer outreach to event logistics during New York Fashion Week, I don’t only create content, I have learned to understand the decisions and relationships behind all of it.
On this website I will showcase all of my previous work from personal content to professional events or projects I have been a part of. Events are what I want my main focus to be after graduation. I love being part of event planning and execution because you get to see your creation come to life. I have two years of New York Fashion Week pop-up event experience under my belt, along with two semesters of bid day for my sorority, Zeta Tau Alpha, where all the planning and budgeting was on me.
I hope this website also brings in fellow students, either Rutgers or outside of Rutgers, who are trying to figure out how to break into this space themselves. I hope this site gives you a sense of what I can bring to a team, and maybe even a few useful ideas along the way.
